Equity Portfolio Breakdown
% Value: Value as % of my portfolio
% Cost: Cost as a % of my total cost invested into equities
This table simply visualises the divergence between my investment thesis and the current market expectations of the company. No hard rule on % cost allocation for stocks yet, nor a threshold where I will trim them.

CAGR Performance
Note: CAGR for my portfolio is calculated as:
(market value of portfolio including cash / total cost) - 1
The CAGR returns are compared in the above table instead.
Crypto Portfolio Performance
* Chart starts from end of November 2020 when I started recording my crypto portfolio. Summarizing:
Lifetime performance since Nov 2020: 31.2x my cost
Lifetime result:
- Achieved 3.6x of BTC performance (31.2/8.76)
- Achieved 1.2x of ETH performance (31.2/26.0)
Finally outperforming ETH, after 3 years… Thanks to the dog wif the hat.
Net worth growth
If there’s only one metric that you can apply to your financial life, I believe that would be net worth. If you’re investing, perhaps under 5% of your gross income for investments, it’s a little hard (compounding considered) to eventually make a dent in your net worth.
To read this chart:
I’ve received ~24.3x my Jul 2019 net worth, in terms of income / bonus.
I’ve made my money work, and my net worth now is ~39.6x my Jul 2019 net worth.
I’ve accumulated savings of 7.8x my Jul 2019 net worth.
Red line is an extreme example; Anywhere between grey and red is acceptable, since you’re supposed to compound your savings, and not your income (i.e. you don’t spend anything). Onwards and upwards!
Equities Portfolio Commentary
Earnings released for many of my portfolio companies, and I think they all performed quite well. These companies remain the ones I want to allocate more money into, over this year and the next, so I’m willing to sit through a continued period of underperformance, before these companies start getting their strides on and compound results after results.
My focus will primarily be on crypto for the next few months as well, so this portfolio is more or less on autopilot.

Crypto Portfolio Commentary
Sorry nothing much this month to report. I must say, my time spent lurking on Crypto Twitter wasn’t for nothing - importantly it gave me BONK (though I could have done better in my trading), and WIF (milked this hat coin as best as I could).
The next few months will continue to be silly, so the goal here is to make money, but also to ensure that you don’t lose it all once the music stops. That’s what I learnt in 2022, and no way that’ll happen in 2024.
Of course, this isn’t to say that crypto has no value. Don’t be sucked into groupthink - form your own opinion. There is always value found in demand, and if enough people want it, price goes up.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading once again. Enjoy your profits (if you’re in crypto), or be content (if you’re not). Don’t fuck it up just because some avatar on twitter told you XXX is a good investment and you’ll get multiples of your money back.
See you next month.
Cheers,
Joey
